9:30 - 10:00 am HandyDART arrives to collect you (HandyDART charges a small fee)
10:30 a.m. Arrive at Crossreach and enjoy a fresh muffin and coffee or tea
11:00 a.m. Morning Session: exercises, yoga, music therapy
12:15 Enjoy a fresh healthy hot lunch prepared by our chef
1:30 p.m. Afternoon activities: crafts or games, discussion groups, music therapy and many other fun activities.
2 :45 p.m. HandyDART takes you home
OUR TYPICAL DAY AND FEES
Crossreach is open for clients from Monday to Friday each week. A typical day at Crossreach includes a morning snack, exercises and music, a healthy hot lunch, crafts and games, and other activities designed to entertain, stimulate and engage our seniors.
To supplement the funds received from the Health Authority, we charge a small daily fee to our clients to cover part of the costs of the meals and activities. We also raise funds from donations, legacies, memberships, and rentals of our premises.
SERVICES
The services offered by Crossreach are provided by a group of dedicated professionals including a Nurse, Program Coordinator, Program Specialists, a Food Supervisor/Cook and an Office Coordinator. These services include:
· Meals and snacks
· Exercise programs
· Life skills
· Music program
· Crafts
· Cards and table games
· Discussion and reminiscing groups
NUTRITION PROGRAM AND EVENTS
Morning Snack - the morning snack is usually coffee or tea, along with a freshly baked muffin.
Noon Meal - our lunches are designed mainly for our clients who are spending the day with us. The cost of the lunch for clients is covered by the daily fee. The lunch is nutritionally balanced, and consists of soup, a hot entree and a dessert. There is always water, coffee, tea and juice.
Daily Activities and Special Events
Our Calendar shows activities for a typical month. Now and then we will need to change our activity schedule because of availability of staff and resources, or other reasons outside our control.
Our special events change each year, but the following are traditions and are never missed: Because it is such a hit with our clients, we often have a summer BBQ in June. We have a Christmas dinner party in December for our seniors and their family members.
